AEL Mining Services is a leading developer, producer and supplier of commercial explosives, initiating systems and blasting services for mining, quarrying and construction markets in Africa and Indonesia.

We are currently seeking for best candidates to fill the following vacant positions:

1. SITE MANAGER – (CODE: MGR - SM)
To be based at Kalimantan Site
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure company SHE Standards, Systems and Procedures are implemented and complied within applicable areas of control.  Ensure quality safety plans for employees are in place and aligned with mine safety systems and procedures.
- To effectively manage all site personnel.
- To ensure that the parameters set by the performance contract (KPIs) and AEL is continuously measured and monitored with the objective of profitability and a long-term sustainability.
- To ensure that customer needs are satisfied by the deployment of safe, cost effective and satisfactory operations, and ensure that the appropriate standards, systems and procedures are implemented.
- To efficiently and effectively manage the equipment performance and running costs.
- To seek opportunities to maximize production and take advantage of expansion opportunities where appropriate with existing customer.
- Keep up to date in new developments and provide assistance for new improvements.
- Manage and control fixed and operating costs within an agreed budget or objective.
- Responsible for training and development of subordinates and relevant customer personnel, ensuring that the customer develops a thorough understanding of emulsions and the maintenance and operation of the system.
- Implementation and /or maintenance of the world class system.
- Proactively communicate with internal related functional management.

The Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree Mining Engineering with a minimum of 8 years experience in explosives/blasting industry.
- Technical knowledge on blasting, explosives and manufacturing plant.
- Experience in managing site team.
- Good communication skills, in English and Bahasa Indonesia, as the incumbent is required to communicate to management level.

2. TECHNICAL SERVICES ENGINEER (CODE: TS – ENG)
To be based at site

Key Responsibilities:
- To provide AEL business units with expert technical decisions, information and advice on product mix to meet existing and future market needs.
- To use AEL Mining Services’ blasting expertise to the best advantage of the company and its stakeholders by applying blasting expertise to the various AEL Indonesia business units in a professional manner.
- To cement strategic relationships and optimize business returns for both AEL Indonesia and its customers thus ensuring company credibility and competitive edge in the market place.
- The incumbent will be required to travel and work in a roster system.

The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
- At least 2 years’ experience as Engineer in Drill and Blast department.
- Good communication skills, in English and Bahasa Indonesia, as the incumbent is required to communicate with clients.
- Computer literacy with reporting experience.
- Hold blaster competency (KJL II)
- Hold POP will be an advantage
- Hold a Driver’s license; for heavy vehicle would be an advantage.
- The incumbent will be required to travel and work in a roster system.

3. LAB. TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT (CODE: BT – LTA)
To be based at site
Key Responsibilities:
- Based at AEL at mining site/plant.
- Routine quality analysis of products produced in AEL plants and MMU.
- Involved in new product development” and trials at all PT AEL Indonesia sites, assisting the Bulk Tech Specialist.
- Lives and promotes the company’s SHEQ standards.
- Assists with the analysis and reporting of non-routine or unusual customer complaints.
- Ensures that all work conducted within the section is reported in an appropriate manner.
- Conduct training and counseling for QC Team.
- Conducts calibration of QC tools on site.
- Review product related information and compiles it in a monthly report.

The Requirements:
- D3 or S1 majoring in sciences.
- A strong analytical background.
- Computer literate.
- English spoken & written is preferable.

4. SITE SUPERINTENDENT (CODE: FLD – SUPT)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Site

Key Responsibilities:
- Manages all elements of the delivery and application of bulk explosive products and accessories to meet customer needs. This process includes the ongoing application of the “World Class” approach with demonstrated continuous improvement.
- Ensuring that all employees under the operation crews adhere to the safety procedures and regulations for blasting practices in the field (priming, charging, tie up and firing) and meet with PT.AEL standard working requirements and Customer SHE regulations.
- Assists the Site Managers in delivering on financial requirements as budgeted for i.e. ensuring that budget, forecasting and bottom line targets are met.
- Responsible for maintaining sufficient and adequate personnel resources in compliance with the project requirements.
- Manages the performance of a suitably selected subordinate.
- Assists in managing raw materials, equipment and customers in order to plan effectively in the short term.
- Ensuring that the work performed on the project meets or exceeds criteria’s established by PT.AEL’s customer. Maintain a positive and constructive relationship with our customer to:
- Ensure that customer’s expectations are well understood.
- Communicate to the customers for job phases or activities that may provide challenges.
- Responsible to closely monitor all daily blasting mining practices and promptly change and or adjust any of the activities in order to maximize productivity to meet our expectations as detailed in daily design tie up sequence or agreement document. Maintain good communication and information throughout the workforce.
- Responsible for supporting the job communication by encouraging employees to discuss and share their concerns and ideas.
- Maintaining a good communication and relationship throughout both the field personnel and top Management.
- Addressing any potential issues that may cause delay of blasting operation in the field.
- The incumbent is required to operate and maintain the allocated company assets within the frame wok of the company’s Safety and Environmental policies and the legal requirements (OHS -, Explosives - and Mine Health and Safety Acts) while meeting customer requirements and AEL Indonesia budget.

The Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree Mining Engineering, sufficiently mature with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- Able to proficiently speak and write in English.
- Good communication skills, in English and Bahasa Indonesia, as the incumbent is required to communicate to management level.
- Technical knowledge.
- Hold KJL2 certificate & able to obtain KIM.
- Hold valid POP to obtain POM certification.

5. SHOTFIRER/BLASTER (CODE: FLD – SF)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Sites

Key Responsibilities:
- Tie up, Clearing, Firing and post blast.
- Deliver the product within customer request (No product mistaken load into the hole).
- Inspection and measurement of drilled blast holes, to determine quality and number of holes per blast.
- Deliver accessories required for each blast area.
- Must have knowledge of and apply any additional customer Safety Standards.
- Prevent any environmental contamination as per environmental management system.
- Report any incidents occurred to Supervisor.

The Requirements:
- Senior High School with minimum 3 years’ experience or D3 with minimum 1-2 years’ experience
- Certificate of Blasting Competency Holder (KJL 2) and a valid KIM
- Hold A driving license (SIM A)

6. MMU OPERATOR (CODE: FLD-MMU)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating MMU as per customers’ need.
- Maintain the MMU in a clean condition, inside and outside.
- Refill the MMU material and MMU charging down the hole.
- Deliver the product as per customer’s need.
- Optimal use of MMU unit.
- Pre-checking the MMU prior using and reporting to Supervisor for any under-standard MMU condition.
- MMU calibration as per schedule.

The Requirements:
- Age min. 21 years old
- Senior High School with minimum 3 years’ experience or D3 with minimum 1-2 years’ experience as MMU Operator
- Hold B2 driving license (SIM B2)
- Experience as medium truck operator is an advantage
- Certificate of Blasting Competency Holder (KJL 2)

7. MECHANIC/ELECTRICIAN (CODE: MTC-MEC)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Fast response for field function at site.
- Conduct all mechanical inspection and repair in Plant and charging unit.
- Supervise and check standard job which is done by contractor and give information to Supervisor.
- Ensure the availability of electrical equipment and do repair all electrical breakdowns.
- Ensure all electrical point is safe for user by applying the correct company’s Safety Standard.
- Ensure that all electrical power is always available by immediately identifying the failure of electrical power.
- Do job as per company’s standard which is align with the above standard.
- Supporting Instrument Engineer in instrumentation maintenance as needed and instructed.

The Requirements:
- Age min. 21 years old
-  Technical High School (Automotive & Electrical) with minimum 3 years’ experience or Diploma 3 with minimum 1 year
-  Hold a driving license, B2 Driving License is preferred.
- Technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic system.

8. PLANT OPERATOR (CODE: PLT-OPR)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Sites

Key Responsibilities:
- Operating MMU as per customers’ need.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all operational activities.
- Charging and discharging raw material that will be used in the processing Plant.
- The arrangement of raw material inventory based on First-In-First-Out.
- Ensure all delivery OTIF (On Time Full).
- Removing redo and unnecessary production.

The Requirements:
- Age min. 21 years old
- Senior High School with minimum 3 years’ experience or D3 with minimum 1-2 years’ experience
- Having Forklift License and Boiler License would be an advantage.
- Certificate of Blasting Competency Holder (KJL 2).

9. LEARNING PROGRAM COORDINATOR (CODE: LP-CO)
To be based at Kalimantan Project Sites

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the health and safety of Training & Quality Department employees and trainees through education, training and demonstration of the right behaviors.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the business through proactive management of the employees, procedures and processes under direct supervision.
- Ensure company HSE&Q standards are incorporated and implemented into the training packages and workplace.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and statutory obligations at all times.
- Report on problems or areas for improvement
- Plan and implement the operations training programs for all AEL Indonesia sites to ensure the site operational personnel acquire the required skills to perform their jobs safely & effectively based on their individual TGA and training matrix for their respective roles.
- Ensure all required internal operations training courses have appropriate training packages for use and delivery within PT AEL Indonesia.
- Develop internal operations training materials based on needs as agreed with relevant Area / Site managers.
- Deliver the approved training materials to the intended participants.
- Develop site mentors to ensure all sites have mentors to be able to deliver the agreed training course on sites.
- Compile monthly Training reports and provide regular feedback to the Training & Quality Manager.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of training courses for continuous improvement.
- Work with the Training & Quality Admin to maintain a training data base which is always available for auditing purposes.
- Plan training needs in advance to meet Operation’s needs.

The Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Technical or Mining Engineering and/or minimum High School graduate with minimum 6 years in mobile equipment operations, Charging unit(s), Field and Plant operations
- Explosives and/or mining industry experience are required
- Certificate IV or equivalent in Training And Assessment or 3 years of experience within such systems environment
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
