ENGINEER – MINING
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
• With guidance of a Senior Mining Engineer conduct daily pit inspection of land clearing, topsoiling, mining, dump, dewatering, water management, and rehab activities, ensure contractors optimize topsoil recovery. Monitor actual wall position and dump face position and report to Mine Contract Operation Superintendent to ensure all the geotechnical recommendation are applied. Also monitor any contractor activities impacted to the financial loss to KPC.
• Close work with KPC environmental department in monitoring and inspection environment issue impacted by contractors.
• Provide weekly of all the operation activities and projects related to contractors activities. Also provide record of any day work activities.
• Monitor contractor short term plan and identify any loss or gain impacted to KPC. Assist Mine Contract Operation superintendent to review contractors mine schedule and forecast.
• Coordinate with other department (Mine Planning, Geology, and Environmental) to do joint pit inspection and coordination regularly.
• Conduct projects as requested such the cost impact of low wall and high wall cutback, dump balance and OB haul distance, pit dewatering.
• Provide the usage of fuel and explosive data by contractors.
Qualifications:
• Mine Engineering Degree (S1) with at least 3 years in a mine technical engineering position with experience in contract mining will be an advantage.
• Good written and oral English.
• Excellent skills in computing and data analysis programmes.
• Demonstrate the ability to think laterally and to be able to innovate.
• Demonstrate practical conceptual skills.
• Understanding of continuous improvement practices.
• Understanding of financial analysis methods.
• Analytical, problem solving skills together with mechanical aptitude to solve technical difficulties.
